Job Overview: As a Junior Loss Prevention Specialist at our school store, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure and ethical shopping environment. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in preventing theft, ensuring the safety of merchandise, and contributing to the overall security of the school store. This position is designed for a student who is committed to creating a positive and secure shopping experience for fellow students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Surveillance and Monitoring:
    • Monitor the school store premises through surveillance systems to detect and prevent theft or suspicious activities.
    • Keep a vigilant eye on customer behavior and report any unusual or potentially harmful situations.
  2. Customer Service:
    • Provide friendly and helpful customer service to students and staff.
    • Assist customers with locating products and answering inquiries about store policies.
  3. Bag Checks and Inventory Control:
    • Conduct routine bag checks at the entrance/exit to prevent unauthorized removal of merchandise.
    • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and report any discrepancies promptly.
  4. Collaboration with Store Staff:
    • Work closely with the school store staff to implement loss prevention strategies.
    • Communicate effectively with store managers and colleagues to address security concerns.
  5. Training and Education:
    • Participate in training sessions on loss prevention techniques and security protocols.
    • Educate fellow students and store staff on the importance of security measures.
  6. Incident Reporting:
    • Document and report any incidents of theft, vandalism, or other security breaches.
    • Assist in investigations by providing relevant information to school authorities.
  7. Emergency Response:
    • Be familiar with emergency procedures and assist in evacuations or lockdowns if necessary.
    • Act as a point of contact for emergency responders when required.


  • Completed a series of pre-employment workshops.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with store staff and school administration.
  • Integrity and commitment to maintaining a secure shopping environment.
  • A basic understanding of security systems and procedures is a plus.
